Everybody
2023 Production Ensemble.
Assistant Professor of Theater Isaiah M. Wooden directs this fascinating contemporary play by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, who the New York Times calls “one of the country‘s most original and illuminating writers”. This modern spin on the fifteenth-century Morality play “Everyman”, follows one central character named “Everybody” as they prepare to follow Death into the unknown. Connecting our modern-day anxieties with the preoccupations of Medieval monks, this layered, tender, and unexpectedly hilarious play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2018.
