Eurydice
Zivia Lichtenberg '23 directs Sarah Ruhl's timeless play.
This beautiful and haunting play by beloved contemporary playwright Sarah Ruhl re-imagines the classic myth of Orpheus, this time centering the story on Eurydice, his lost bride. When Eurydice dies too young on her wedding day, she must journey to the underworld, where she re-unites with her father and begins the slow process of forgetting everything she once knew. This fresh take on the play, directed by Zivia Lichtenberg ’23, includes original music by the director and an onstage band made up of Swarthmore student musicians.
