Days and Nights Within
Senior Company 2007
The Department of Theater presents Senior Company 2007 production of American playwright Ellen McLaughlin's 1984 play, Days and Nights Within Friday, December 8 at 8pm, Saturday December 9 at 2 pm and 8pm, and Sunday, December 10, at 8pm in the Frear Ensemble Theater, LPAC. There will be a discussion with the playwright Ellen McLaughlin following the December 8th performance.
The play dramatizes the complex relationship between a political prisoner and her interrogator in communist East Berlin in 1950. The production is directed by Katie Van Winkle '07, and features costumes designed by Jen Roth '07, set and lighting designs by Kim Comer '09, and sound design by Nick Kourtides. Anna Belc '07 and Rachel Sugar '08 will perform in the roles of the prisoner and the interrogator. Jen Roth is also serving as production dramaturg for the show. The work of Senior Company (Theater 099) is the culminating exercise for senior theater majors and minors, and this year it is advised by Prof. Allen Kuharski.
Performances are free and open to the public without advance reservation. There will be receptions with the cast and company in the LPAC lower lobby after each performance. Ellen McLaughlin's post-show talk after the opening night performance is made possible by the generous support of the President's Office and the Department of English Literature.
