Charles Wilker ’77
Charles Wilker ’77 has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The IEEE Board of Directors awards the international honor of Fellow to a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in electrical, electronic, and computing technologies. Wilker received this honor for his contributions to microwave measurements of cryogenic and high power components and for his work with DuPont’s High Temperature Superconductivity (HTS) research and development effort. He has worked on HTS since 1988, making many important contributions in the high frequency characterization of HTS materials, devices, and systems. The award also recognizes his volunteer service to the Automatic Radio Frequency Techniques Group, the premier international test and measurement technical society. He has been a member of the board since 1997, including a term as president. He was awarded the society’s 2005 Distinguished Service Award and has served twice as conference chair.
