Swarthmore’s regional alumni organizations are called “Connections.” Connection events range from a guided tour to a museum to a family picnic in the park. The Alumni Office seeks volunteers to help organize and staff Connection events.

In Los Angeles, incoming freshmen gathered at the home of Deborah How ’89 to get to know each other and meet alumni before flying cross-country to begin their first semester of classes at Swarthmore. Send-off receptions were also held in Denver; New York; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.
