Robert Mueller ’68, chief financial officer of the Delaware Valley Friends School—a Quaker college preparatory school for students with learning disabilities or differences in Paoli, Pa.—was honored last year with the first Philadelphia Area Independent School Business Officers Association (PAISBOA) Visionary Award. He received the award in recognition of his passionate leadership of the organization during the past 14 years. Mueller, who is the immediate past chair of PAISBOA, also serves as chair of the Philadelphia Area Independent School Insurance Group, which arranges health insurance for 142 member schools and colleges including Swarthmore. Mueller also is a past vice president of the National Business Officers Association, another association offering professional resources for independent school business officers, which honored Mueller in 2006 by naming him the recipient of that year’s Distinguished Business Officer Award.
