Christopher Udry ’81 — Distinguished Scholar

Christopher Udry ’81, the Henry J. Heinz II Professor of Economics at Yale, received an honorary degree from the University of Ghana last spring for his distinguished scholarship. Udry’s research focuses on rural economic activity in sub-Saharan Africa, including technological changes in agriculture, the use of financial markets, and gender relations and the structure of household economies. He received a Ph.D. from Yale in 1991.
