Deck the Maiden FairI enjoyed the article on large-scale campus art, and I was glad to know such works are taking their place on campus. The title of the article, “Art and Nature Thus Allied,” was taken from W. S. Gilbert’s song for the operetta Mikado, its first line being “Braid the raven hair.” I think Gilbert deserves a footnote for that milestone in English poetry: “Art and nature, thus allied, go to make a pretty bride.” —David Duncan ’69, Rushville, Ill.
