John Goldman ’71—Presidential Appointee John Goldman ’71 was recently appointed by President Barack Obama to the board of general trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, whose advisory board he’s served on since 2011. As president of the San Francisco Symphony from 2001 to 2012, Goldman has served on the symphony’s Board of Governors since 1996. He also serves on the board of Stanford Hospital & Clinics, the university’s Graduate School of Business Advisory Council, and its Center for Philanthropy and Civil Society. Previously, he was president of the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund and president of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma counties. Goldman was also president of the board of Jewish Family and Children’s Services from 1984 to 1996.
