Madeleine Booth ’15—Prestigious Scholar Madeleine Booth ’15 is one of 35 U.S. students selected as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Established through a $210 million donation to the University of Cambridge from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000, this top international scholarship is bestowed on students whose academic excellence is matched by their socially conscious leadership. Booth will pursue an M.Phil. in linguistics at Cambridge, building on the interest in endangered-languages conservation that she cultivated at Swarthmore.
