Galleries, Networking, and Nights OutSan Francisco: A small group of graduates of the last five years joined Alumni Relations staff for drinks and discussion Aug. 10. Chicago: Welcome to the City events, organized by roughly 70 different alumni volunteers in the U.S. and around the world, took place Oct. 10, in approximately 25 cities worldwide. In addition to Chicago, other major cities such as New York; Philadelphia; L.A.; D.C.; Boston; Seattle; London; the Bay Area; Tucson, Ariz.; Shanghai; Eugene, Ore.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Durham, N.C.; Rochester, N.Y.; Atlanta; and Baltimore also had events. Boston: A young alumni event Aug. 14 drew roughly 17 Swatties for a happy hour at the Carrie Nation Speakeasy Lounge. James Wieler ’13 organized the event with help from the Boston Connection chairs. Washington, D.C.: Alumni in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, hosted the inaugural Swarthmore LGBTQ networking night May 4.
