Alicia Muñoz ’03—Tenured Professor Alicia Muñoz ’03, professor of Hispanic and Latin American studies at Macalester College, was granted tenure in August. Muñoz’s research and teaching interests include contemporary Latin American narrative, popular culture, gender studies, border studies, and U.S. Latino/a literature. Her research focuses on representations of women’s violence, articulations of urban space, and women’s participation in drug trafficking. She teaches all levels of Spanish language as well as upper-level courses. As a former Mellon Mays fellow, she particularly enjoys working with Macalester’s Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship program.
