Gelber Makes Important Mark on Climate ChangeI enjoyed your April Bulletin article on Years of Living Dangerously, the climate-change series co-created by David Gelber ’63. David was my roommate in Mary Lyons first semester of freshman year 55 years ago. I am pleased that Years of Living Dangerously received an Emmy as an outstanding documentary or nonfiction series. The series is available on DVD, Amazon instant video, iTunes ($2.99 per episode) and other digital platforms. In addition, the National Wildlife Federation is editing the series’ episodes to create curricula for schools and colleges. Sept. 23, The New York Times article, “Shining Star Power on a Crucial Subject” continued the praise received by Years of Living Dangerously. The article stated that David and his co-producer have begun plotting a second series. I encourage all alums and all others in the greater Swarthmore community to see and talk about these shows. They are an important contribution to our understandings and actions as we face global warming individually and together. —Jeb Eddy ’63 Palo Alto, Calif.
