Gustavo Schwed ’84
Gustavo Schwed ’84 is a professor of management practice at New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he has received the distinguished teaching award and twice been recognized as professor of the year. He is also a visiting professor at Princeton University. Schwed was previously a managing director at Providence Equity Partners and Morgan Stanley. He has served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards. He is currently a board member at Oliver Scholars, which provides educational services to underserved Black and Latinx students in New York City.
Schwed was a member of Swarthmore’s Board of Managers from 2010 to 2022, most recently serving on the Audit and Risk Management, Development and Communications, Finance, and Investment committees.
Schwed graduated from Swarthmore with High Honors in economics in 1984 and earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1988.
