Spoken Word - A Performance by Rhapsode

In honor of the Kathryn Morgan Poetry Fest, RhapsodE, member of the Philadelphia-based Philly Spoken Soul Collective, will share her experience and her words with students, faculty, and the community on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Scheuer Room.

RhapsodE incorporates the spiritual influence of words, adds music, and sets the stage for a poetry performance that includes conversations about spirituality, self-discovery, womanhood, and cultural dignity with cleverness, sincerity, and humor creating rhythmic stories that transform into poetry.

RhapsodE has been featured as festivals, colleges, and venues nationwide including the Philadelphia International Arts Expo, the Minneapolis B Girl Be Festival, the Toronto Urban Music Festival, and local venues including The Black Lily, October Gallery, the Clef Club, and World Café Live.

When not on stage, RhapsodE is an educator, entrepreneur and actress and has a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Kansas and a Master's of Arts in African-American Studies from Temple University. She also hosts a monthly podcast radio show, The Feel Good Flow on Soul Sanctuary Radio.
