Reminder: Testing This Week

Dear Campus Community Members,

As we shared in our Feb. 23 message, all students and employees are required to continue conducting COVID-19 testing this week. Given that many students, faculty, and staff members may have traveled during spring break, it is particularly important that you follow the College’s testing protocols this week. The results of this week’s testing will help inform decisions around updating other COVID-19 policies.

We will move to optional testing beginning Monday, March 21. At this time, individuals with a College-approved medical or religious vaccine exemption are  required to continue weekly testing. Anyone who is symptomatic is required to take a COVID-19 test as well.

Students, faculty, and staff members who wish to continue regular testing may do so.

Students who wish to continue testing should review the information shared with them via email from Director of Student Health & Wellness Casey Anderson and email her directly at canders4@swarthmore.edu. Students can also visit the Student Health & Wellness site.

Faculty and staff members who wish to continue testing should fill out this brief request form. Doing so does not obligate you to continue testing, but it will help us plan for the rest of the semester. Employees who continue the optional COVID-19 testing may receive up to four test kits at a time, subject to availability.

In addition, all faculty and staff members should keep one rapid test kit at home, regardless of whether you plan to continue optional testing. This ensures that, should you develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19, you have an available test.

We will continue to respond to the changing dynamics of COVID-19 in ways that are consistent with the latest information available to us, while also priorioritizing the health and well-being of our campus community. We thank all of you for your continued grace and flexibility as we emerge from what we hope to be the worst of the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Members of the COVID-19 Planning Group
