Houston: The Houston Connection held two events this spring. On April 29, the group was treated to a dinner and discussion of community service. Matt Neal ’98 discussed the YES Prep Public Schools, a charter school system in Houston that recently opened its ninth campus; John ’77 and Ann McKee Montgomery ’77 described their experiences with personal and foundation giving in peacemaking and anti-genocide work. John recently served as an election observer with the Carter Center in Southern Sudan. And in May, Houston alumni came together for dinner and attended a production of Pygmalion at the Alley Theater.

Atlanta: On March 12, a group of Atlanta alumni got together to sort supplies for MedShare, a nonprofit that collects surplus medical supplies and equipment and redistributes them to qualified healthcare facilities in the developing world. And on July 7, they volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, sorting food in the Product Rescue Center.
