Sustainability at Swarthmore
Swarthmore College has a long history of honoring the natural environment and working to protect both it and the people who depend on it. Our ongoing environmental sustainability work builds proudly on our Quaker legacy of shared responsibility, social justice, and resource stewardship. We strive to model sustainable practices and foster collaboration, build capacity, and create pathways for students, staff, and faculty to learn about sustainability and advance solutions.
We invite you to learn about the work of the Office of Sustainability, including how we are decarbonizing our campus energy systems, taking significant strides toward becoming a zero waste campus, engaging our diverse community of students, faculty, and staff along the way through service and education, and so much more.
Our Mission
The Office of Sustainability supports and inspires the College community to integrate sustainability into all aspects of campus life: teaching, learning, operations, and culture.
