E-Source Positions Available
E-Source is the company started by Amory Lovins, the renewable energy and energy efficiency guru of the 1970's and 1980's. E-Source does a lot of consulting in the areas of energy efficiency and utility industry deregulation/competition.
The company is expanding and looking for smart people who can write. Technical expertise is a plus, but not a necessity, since they E-source does a lot of its own technical training. The company is expecting to develop positions to match the skills of the people they hire.
Following are brief descriptions of positions open. Key skills for all positions include a curiosity to learn and to conduct in-depth primary and secondary research; succinct, creative writing skills; and high productivity. Knowledge of the electricity industry, retail marketing, or energy efficiency is desirable, but not necessary.
Market sector assistants/associates: Research and develop information products regarding business and energy needs of commercial or industrial customers in specific market segments. (three or four openings, one-two of which may be energy technology specialists)
Strategic and marketing issues assistant/associate: Research and develop information products on leading-edge topics affecting electric and gas utilities and their customers. Topics may include business structure, segmentation, energy efficiency, and new product development (one opening)
Utility issues assistant/associate: Develop information products for utilities as they grapple with the affects of deregulation on their business structures. May include reports on billing and information technology systems, outsourcing models, and corporate benchmarking. (two openings).
Marketing research manager: E Source is launching several national market research studies and is seeking a manager to help formulate the study contents, develop surveys, analyze results, manage contracted field work, and write compelling reports on the results. (one position).
In addition to these areas, we are also working in power quality, renewables, and energy information (including e-commerce and various IS issues).
